NOTE: There are ventilation holes through the sides of the ChargeLite™ Desk, take care that none of these holes are obstructed.
The front doors of your ChargeLite™ Desk are unlocked using the key with the white key cover.
The front doors are for everyday working access to the cabinet. The key can be removed once the door is open, this will prevent the door from closing fully whilst it is unlocked.
The rear panel can be removed by removing the 10 screws around the edge of the panel (See Installation Guide).
The rear panel should not be considered as day-to-day access to the cabinet but used for initial setup by an authorised person.

Charging Set Up
AC Adaptor Charging Model
Ensure the cabinet is unplugged when you are loading AC Adaptors in the ChargeLite™.
Open both front doors and remove rear panel (See Installation Guide)
You will find power strips for your AC Adaptors in the rear compartment. (figure 4)
There are two styles of AC adaptor:
- In-Plug AC Adaptor - where they plug directly into a socket and the charging lead goes directly to the device (figure 5)
- In-Line AC Adaptor - where they have a mains lead between the power socket and the AC adaptor and then a charging lead going to the device. (figure 6)
‘In-Plug AC Adaptors' can be san be plugged directly into the sockets and the changing lead passed onto a shelf.
‘In-Line AC Adaptors' you have the choice to place the AC Adaptor on the shelf with your devices or to leave the AC Adaptor in the rear compartment and only pass the charging lead onto the shelf.
NOTE: See the section below on Positioning the Charging Leads
- NOTE: Maximum loading 100Watt (rated capacity) per socket. (400Watts (rated capacity) per power strip).
As standard, Type G UK power sockets are installed, but there is a manufacturing option to have Type C/Type F Schuko Euro power sockets.
USB-C Charging Model
Please ensure the cabinet is unplugged when you are connecting USB-C charging leads in the ChargeLite™
Open both front doors and remove rear panel (See Installation Guide)
The USB-C power bank installed vertically in the rear service area.
Unpack the USB-C to USB-C charging leads. These are provided in box(es) inside the rear service area of the unit. (figure 7)

- The straight end of the USB-C connectors plug into the the power banks. (figure 8)
- The right-angled USB-C connectors connect the devices on the shelves.
- Be careful to plug in the charging leads in order starting from the top. The ports on the power bank are numbered and correspond with the charge status displays on the front of the unit.
Plug the devices in. Check that the LED display turns on when the device is plugged in.

Cable Clips

A range of positions are available at either side of the locker bays. (figure 11)
Install the white cable clips into the bays by pushing them into the holes provided at the front of the shelves. (figure 12)
Use the cable clips to secure the charging leads (figure 13)
Thermal Trip
In the United Kingdom the detachable mains lead carries a fuse for the protection of users.
In the event that your ChargeLite™ unit has been installed with no wall plug, the power management cassette also has a resettable thermal trip. This trip acts in much the same way as a fuse, to protect users and once tripped it can be re-set.
The thermal trip is mounted on the back edge of the power management cassette in the top of the side compartment. When the trip has operated there will be no power to the sockets and the centre button of the trip will be extend by approximately 12mm.
In the event of a trip:
- First - Switch off the power supply.
- Check if the reason for the tripping is apparent. If possible correct the issue.
- Do NOT reset the trip with the mains power switched on.
- Allow 60 seconds after it has tripped before switching the mains power on.
- Re-set the trip - Press the centre of the button back into the trip. When re-set the button will stay pressed in when you release your finger.
- Restore power to the power and check that the trip remains set.
- If the trip operates again you should first switch off the mains and then switch off and unplug everything in the sockets.
- Re-set the trip (as above)
- Restore power to the power and check that the trip remains set.
- Then, one by one, re-plug everything into the sockets, switch on and check that the trip remains set.
If the trip will not re-set or it continues to trip, there may still be a fault somewhere or the trip may have developed a fault. Please contact Support on 01787 226 166 or support@lapsafe.com
Timer
View the timer user manual here
ChargeLite™ units have a plug in timer included as standard. This allows you to set active usage periods and to prevent using excess power when needed.
You can locate the timer on the top AC Adapter block inside your unit.
Remove the timer, plug the timer into the wall and then plug the charging lead into the timer.
NOTE: The timer requires charging before initial use. When you first use the timer the LCD display may not be illuminated. It is recommended to charge the timer for 14 hours after the initial installation to charge the memory back-up battery.
Legacy Timer Model
On older models, the timer was offered as an additional option. This style of timer can be found located behind an oval plate on the rear of the unit.
You can view or download the manual for the legacy timer module here
Network Connectivity
If your ChargeLite™ features network connectivity, you can plug the ChargeLite™ into your network by connecting a standard network cable into the auxiliary point on the back of the unit.
Data Transfer (DTK)
If your purchase includes DTK your ChargeLite™ will be supplied with sufficient network cables to connect each device to the installed network switch.

Cleaning
Before carrying out any cleaning, or accessing the service area, disconnect the mains power.
Disconnecting the unit from the mains supply
Your ChargeLite™ unit is connected to the mains supply via a mains lead. There is an IEC connector at one end (plugs into the unit), and a 13amp mains plug at the other (plugs into the wall mains outlet).
13 amp Mains Plug (Switched)
Switch OFF the outlet and remove the plug from the socket. If access to the service area is required, you can only gain access by removing the IEC plug to ensure the unit is not plugged in.
DO:
- Your ChargeLite™ has a powder coat finish which is very durable and can be wiped clean using a mildly soapy cloth.
- To remove more stubborn marks or perhaps an adhesive residue you can use a gentle solvent such as white spirit or a mild solvent-based cleaner.
Do Not:
- Do not soak any areas of the locker
- Do not get the power cassette or the locker sockets wet
- Do not soak any area with solvent
- Do not use solvent cleaners on the locks
Cleaning Fans
Depending on the model, your ChargeLite™ unit may have thermostatically controlled fans. Under normal operating temperatures, the fan is off. The fan will come on when the unit exceeds a pre-set temperature and continue to run until the temperature lowers below its lower set point. If the temperature rises, the unit will shut down automatically and sound an audible alarm.
Over time, dust and debris can partially block the fan and ventilation holes, preventing maximum airflow and causing the unit not to cool as expected. It is recommended that the fan blades and ventilation holes be checked and cleaned at least once every three months or if you suspect an increase in normal running temperature or if the unit shuts down.
To clean the fan and ventilation holes, carefully agitate the dust with a suitable dry brush and extract the loose particles with a vacuum cleaner. Additionally, the ventilation holes can be wiped with a "damp" (not wet) cloth. Do not use a damp (or wet) cloth on the fan housing, as the primary charging electrics are behind.

Modifications

Any modification to the power management system will negate your warranty and could make your ChargeLite™ dangerous to use.
